Antimicrobial Drug Resistance in Fish Pathogens
ABSTRACT Major concerns surround the use of antimicrobial agents in farm-raised fish, including the potential impacts these uses may have on the development of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens in fish and the aquatic environment.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Fish Pathogen Piscirickettsia salmonis
Piscirickettsia salmonis is a Gram-negative intracellular fish pathogen that has a significant impact on the salmon industry. Here, we report the genome sequence of P. salmonis strain LF-89. This is the first draft genome sequence of P.

In vitro activities of 4-quinolones against the fish pathogen Aeromonas salmonicida [PDF]
The activities of five fluorinated 4-quinolones, namely, sarafloxacin, enrofloxacin, PD 127391, PD117596, and CI934, against the fish pathogen Aeromonas salmonicida were investigated and compared with that of oxolinic acid.

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Amongst Aeromonas spp. strains that are pathogenic to fish in Polish aquacultures, serogroup O6 was one of the five most commonly identified immunotypes especially among carp isolates. Here, we report immunochemical studies of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Whole genome sequencing of the fish pathogen Francisella noatunensis subsp. orientalis Toba04 gives novel insights into Francisella evolution and pathogenecity [PDF]
Background Francisella is a genus of gram-negative bacterium highly virulent in fishes and human where F. tularensis is causing the serious disease tularaemia in human.
