Fisheries-management science: a framework for the implementation of fisheries-management systems [PDF]
Management science, the scientific study of problem-solving, has developed a body of literature and methodologies over the past four decades on decision theory methods, evaluation of management and systems performance, and analysis of systems under uncertainty.

Consequences of fleet diversification in managed and unmanaged fisheries [PDF]
Biological diversity is known to play an important role in generating and maintaining ecosystem productivity and other functions, and has consequently become a central focus of many efforts to preserve ecosystem services. Theoretical parallels suggest the diversity of fishing fleets may have a similarly important role in determining the productivity ...

Elasmobranch bycatch in US West Coast groundfish fisheries
Effective management of multispecies fisheries in large marine ecosystems is challenging. To deal with these challenges, fisheries managers are moving toward ecosystem-based fishery management (EBFM).

Experiential-Informed Data Reconstruction for Fishery Sustainability and Policies in the Azores [PDF]
Fishery analysis is critical in maintaining the long-term sustainability of species and the livelihoods of millions of people who depend on fishing for food and income. The fishing gear, or metier, is a key factor significantly impacting marine habitats, selectively targeting species and fish sizes.

The clinical spectrum of SMA‐PME and in vitro normalization of its cellular ceramide profile
Abstract Objective The objectives of this study were to define the clinical and biochemical spectrum of spinal muscular atrophy with progressive myoclonic epilepsy (SMA‐PME) and to determine if aberrant cellular ceramide accumulation could be normalized by enzyme replacement.

Evaluating the sustainability of a de facto harvest strategy for British Columbia's Spot Prawn (Pandalus platyceros) fishery in the presence of environmental drivers of recruitment and hyperstable catch rates [PDF]
The Spot Prawn trap fishery off the west coast of British Columbia (BC) is managed using a fixed escapement strategy that aims to prevent recruitment overfishing while maximizing expected long-term yield by closing the fishery when the catch rate of spawners, projected to the following spring, drops below 1.7 spawners per trap (the de jure rule).
