Studies on inverter-fed five-phase induction motor drive

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1988
The advantages of higher-phase-order drives are reviewed, and results of investigations of a five-pulse inverter-fed induction motor are presented. Methods of improving the waveform of the motor phase current in the five-phase drive are examined theoretically as well as experimentally.

An Improved DTC Technique for Low-Speed Operation of a Five-Phase Induction Motor

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
In this paper, an improved direct torque control (DTC) technique of a two-level inverter-fed five-phase induction motor (FPIM) drive for low-speed operation is presented. The operation of the FPIM with distributed winding requires the elimination of third-harmonic voltage, which, if not taken care of, would generate distorted stator current.

Five-phase induction motor drives with DSP-based control system

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2002
This paper extensively introduces two kinds of control schemes that can be applied to the operation of a five-phase induction motor-vector control and direct torque control, as well as their fully digital implementations. Vector control of the five-phase induction motor generates the fundamental and third harmonic currents.

Modeling of five phase induction motor drive

2017 International Conference on Technological Advancements in Power and Energy ( TAP Energy), 2017
Multiphase motors are induction motors in which stator has more than three phases. Multiphase motor drives (more than three phases) have attracted more attention in recent years because they posses several advantages over conventional three-phase drives such as lower space-harmonic content, can operate even during phase open fault, higher torque ...

IFOC of five-phase induction motor drive

2013 International Conference on Power, Energy and Control (ICPEC), 2013
This paper presents an indirect field oriented control (IFOC) of five-phase induction motor drive fed by a five-phase inverter using mat lab/simulink. IFOC is an established control method for high dynamic performance AC drives and the control is simple and highly reliable. Three phase induction motors have many well recognized advantages however their

Five-phase induction motor drive with sine-wave filter

2014 IEEE 23rd International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2014
The paper presents closed-loop ac drive with 5-phase induction motor operating with voltage source inverter and sine-wave filter. The motor supply voltages and currents have sinusoidal shape. For well known adjustable electric drives the field oriented control method with flux and speed control can be applied.
