Generating Geometric Patterns Using Complex Polynomials and Iterative Schemes

open access: yesAxioms
Iterative procedures have been proved as a milestone in the generation of fractals. This paper presents a novel approach for generating and visualizing fractals, specifically Mandelbrot and Julia sets, by utilizing complex polynomials of the form QC(p ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Rational Forms That Imply the Uniqueness of Fixed Points in Partial Metric Spaces

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of Jaggi type contractions by using a simulation function in the framework of partial metric spaces.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A Closed-cycle Refrigerator for Realizing Low-Temperature Fixed Points

open access: yes, 2004
In order to accommodate the MULTICELLS Project output devices, a cryogen-free refrigerator has been designed and built at the Istituto di Metrologia “G.Colonnetti” (IMGC). The cryostat is a Gifford-McMahon refrigerator with two cooling stages. With the

Length modeling of the end cable harnesses between mechanical fixed points and electrical fixed points

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2016
:The cable harness branches assembled in aircrafts can be separated by fix points into a number of cable harnesses between the adjacent fix points. One kind of these cable harnesses between the adjacent fix points, which has the assembly feature: one fix

Fixed points of multivalued nonexpansive maps

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1991
Fixed point theorems for multivalued contractive-type and nonexpansive-type maps on complete metric spaces and on certain closed bounded convex subsets of Banach spaces have been proved. They extend some known results due to Browder, Husain and Tarafdar,

Discontinuity and Fixed Points

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1999
The author gives a fixed point theorem for a self-map of a metric space \((X,d)\) under a contractivity condition which does not force the map to be continuous at the fixed point. He also gives a common fixed point theorem for two self-mappings \(f,g\) which satisfy a contractivity condition and moreover are ``weakly commuting'', i.e. there exists some
