Radiation heat transfer in particle-laden gaseous flame: Flame acceleration and triggering detonation [PDF]
In this study we examine influence of the radiation heat transfer on the combustion regimes in the mixture, formed by suspension of fine inert particles in hydrogen gas. The gaseous phase is assumed to be transparent for the thermal radiation, while the radiant heat absorbed by the particles is then lost by conduction to the surrounding gas.

Premixed flame propagation in vertical tubes
Analytical treatment of premixed flame propagation in vertical tubes with smooth walls is given. Using the on-shell flame description, equations describing quasi-steady flame with a small but finite front thickness are obtained and solved numerically. It

Nonlinear cellular instabilities of planar premixed flames: numerical simulations of the Reactive Navier-Stokes equations [PDF]
Two-dimensional compressible Reactive Navier-Stokes numerical simulations of intrinsic planar, premixed flame instabilities are performed. The initial growth of a sinusoidally perturbed planar flame is first compared with the predictions of a recent ...

Numerical analysis of flow fields generated by accelerating flames [PDF]
A numerical technique is presented for the analysis of nonsteady flowfields generated by accelerating flames in gaseous media. The problem is formulated in Eulerian coordinates and the solution is based on the extension of the floating shock-fitting technique to all the discontinuities and their interactions occurring in the flowfield.

Flame acceleration and detonation transition in premixed and inhomogeneous supersonic flows
The reactive Navier–Stokes equations with adaptive mesh refinement and a detailed chemical reactive mechanism (11 species, 27 steps) were adopted to investigate a detonation engine considering the injection and supersonic mixing processes.
