On the Stability of Thermonuclear Burning Fronts in Type Ia Supernovae
The propagation of cellularly stabilized thermonuclear flames is investigated by means of numerical simulations. In Type Ia supernova explosions the corresponding burning regime establishes at scales below the Gibson length.

Lithium‐ion battery anodes that maintain good performance and excellent stability under high temperature conditions. Silicon oxide (SiO) has great potential as a high‐capacity anode for lithium‐ion batteries, but its practical use is limited by excessive volume expansion (>200%) and rapid capacity fade, especially at high temperatures.

Influence of the Wall Heat Transfer on Flame Propagation [PDF]
In the internal combustion engines, the flames interact with the walls of the cylinder, which affects the flame propagation characteristics and the engine performance. The flame tends to quench near the wall, which is due to wall heat fluxes.

Trefftz Difference Schemes on Irregular Stencils
The recently developed Flexible Local Approximation MEthod (FLAME) produces accurate difference schemes by replacing the usual Taylor expansion with Trefftz functions -- local solutions of the underlying differential equation.
