Pioneering a butterfly‐inspired design strategy, this work engineers hybrid composites with hierarchical fibrous architectures to achieve synergistic performance. By translating biological principles into scalable composite architectures, it introduces a novel pathway to lightweight, multifunctional, and cost‐effective materials.

Photo‐Activated Merging Cascades in Droplet Swarms Upon Synergistic Solvation of Surfactants

UV activates the motility of UV‐responsive droplets through a decylammonium/carbamate crystalline layer at the air/water interface. Upon merging with immobilized C12E3 surfactant droplets in the layer, hybrid droplets form which dissolve the layer due to synergistic solvation. Development and Validation of a Next‐Generation Mechanistic Model of the Electric Arc Furnace

This study presents a next‐generation mechanistic model of the electric arc furnace (EAF). It describes equations for all crucial processes appearing during the steel‐recycling process in an EAF, i.e., thermal, mass, and chemical. The model was parameterized and validated using industrial EAF data.
