FLAME PROPAGATION VELOCITY IN AN AERO-SUSPENSION OF NANOSCALE ALUMINUM POWDER [PDF]
Summary: A mathematical model of the combustion of aero-suspension of nanodispersed aluminum powder is presented. Modeling of the combustion of aluminum nanoparticles is implemented using the local mathematical model of the oxidizer diffusion through aluminum oxide layer on the surface of the particle with account for its reaction with aluminum.

Flame structure and burning velocity of flames propagating in binary iron aerosols
A numerical study was performed for binary dispersed iron aerosols in air using different particle sizes with constant average particle size. The effects of particle size and density of the two aerosols on flame structure and speed are systematically investigated.

Numerical simulations of the flame propagation process are mandatory to predict the consequences of dust explosions. One key parameter of these models is the burning velocity, i.e. the consumption rate of the reactants by the flame front.

Dynamic behavior and flame acceleration of outwardly expanding flame in hydrogen-air mixture
From the perspective of safety, it is necessary to assess the risk of hydrogen-air deflagration accurately. Especially, flame propagation velocity is one of the most important factors.

Small-scale Interaction of Turbulence with Thermonuclear Flames in Type Ia Supernovae [PDF]
Microscopic turbulence-flame interactions of thermonuclear fusion flames occuring in Type Ia Supernovae were studied by means of incompressible direct numerical simulations with a highly simplified flame description.

Effects of heat release on triple flames [PDF]
Heat release effects on laminar flame propagation in partially premixed flows are studied. Data for analysis are obtained from direct numerical simulations of a laminar mixing layer with a uniformly approaching velocity field.

Effect of an external electric field on the propagation velocity of premixed flames [PDF]
There have been many experimental investigations into the ability of electric fields to enhance combustion by acting upon ion species present in flames [1]. In this work, we examine this phenomenon using a one-dimensional model of a lean premixed flame under the influence of a longitudinal electric field.
