Velocity of flame propagation upon development of hydrodynamic instability
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1993On the basis of a theoretical analysis and numerical calculations, it has been shown that the dynamics of a flame surface under conditions of hydrodynamic instability can be represented as the interaction of a finite number of nonlinear configurations of the flame front.

Scale effect of flame instability mechanisms on propagation velocity
Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, 2013Abstract Blast pressure is a major source of the damage caused by an accidental gas explosion. Its magnitude depends on the thermal expansion rate and hence on the flame propagation velocity. This paper discusses the influence of two flame instability mechanisms, i.e., diffusive-thermal and hydrodynamic instabilities, on flame propagation velocity ...

THE VELOCITY OF FLAME PROPAGATION IN ENGINE CYLINDERS
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1920<div class="htmlview paragraph">Flame propagation has received much attention, but few results directly applicable to operating conditions have been obtained. The paper describes a method devised for measuring the rate of flame propagation in gaseous mixtures and some experiments made to coordinate the phenomena with the important factors ...

Enhancing the propagation velocity of a flame front in an aluminum aerosuspension
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1992Results are presented from experimental and theoretical studies of the effect of particle microcapsuling on the major operational characteristics and phenomena associated with the ignition and combustion of aluminum aerosuspensions. It is found that microcapsuling can be used to enhance the reactivity of an aerosuspension and to lower the amount of the

Propagation Velocity of Premixed Turbulent Flames
Combustion Science and Technology, 1988Abstract The problem of propagation of turbulent premixed flame is analyzed using the field equation introduced recently by Kerstein, Ashurst and Williams (1987). The dynamic renormalization group method is applied to this equation and the formula for the turbulent flame velocity is derived in the lowest order in the e-expansion.

Effect of phase velocity nonequilibrium on flame propagation and extinction
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1996The problem of flame propagation in the presence of inert particles is considered. The mathematical model used is based on the equations of the mechanics of multiphase media in a two-temperature, two-velocity approximation. Numerical calculations of combustion in the presence of a dispersed phase in zero gravity show that the flame does not quench. For

The problem of flame propagation in a random velocity field: weak turbulence limit
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1995Summary: The problem of thin flame front propagation with curvature-dependent speed in a weak turbulent flow has been considered, and its connection with classical problems in the physics of disordered systems such as polymers in a random medium, growing interfaces and \(n\)-body interaction problems has been discussed.

Flame Propagation and Stabilization in High Velocity Combustion Chamber
44th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2008The present paper contains results of experimental researches of multi-injector combustion chambers in a regime of the attached air pipe. As a source of high-enthalpy working gas (air) hot shot wind tunnel IT-302М of ITAM the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science was used.
