Flame stretch effects on partially premixed flames
Combustion and Flame, 2000Abstract Flame stretch is an important characteristic of flame behavior that arises due to flow motion and nonuniformity, and flame curvature. Various investigators have obtained different expressions for flame stretch by employing dissimilar analytical approaches for diverse flame configurations.

Flame wall interaction: effect of stretch
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2003An experimental study of flame-wall interaction is presented. The flame is a laminar, flat methane-air one at three different equivalent ratio: 1, 0.8, 0.6. Temporal PIV system was used to acquire images sequences of the interaction. Evolution of velocity field and flame contour shows that stagnation points appear between the reactive zone and the wall.

IMPACT OF STRETCH ON THE FLAME DYNAMICS OF LAMINAR PREMIXED FLAMES
Inter-Noise 2022, 2023Flame transfer functions (FTF) of laminar premixed flames acoustically forced are analytically investigated and modelled. The study is based on the linearized G-equation, which is used to kinematically track the flame front. In order to incorporate combustion properties, the laminar consumption speed is considered varying depending on the flame front ...

Flame/stretch interactions in laminar and turbulent premixed flames
Combustion Science and Technology, 2002The flame/stretch interactions of laminar and turbulent premixed flames are considered both experimentally and computationally. Potentially strong effects of flame/stretch interactions due to preferential-diffusion phenomena within practical turbulent premixed flames were suggested by experiments and numerical simulations of spherical outwardly ...

Dioxin formation in stretched flames
Chemosphere, 1992Numerical simulations of stretched laminar twin premixed flames are carried out in order to understand the gasphase formation of dioxins in situations analogous to the post combustor and following regions of a typical incinerator. A previously developed chemical kinetic mechanism, that describes dioxin formation in terms of some generic species, is ...
