The stability of weakly stretched flames
2008In this study, the stability of plane stretched flames, more specifically plane flames in straining fields, has been examined. It is shown that flame stretch stabilizes long wavelength disturbances and so can suppress, in this regime the hydrodynamic instability.

Effects of flame stretch on premixed flame propagation in a closed tube
Combustion and Flame, 1996Effects of flame stretch on flame propagation in a closed tube are investigated. The qualitative trend is the same as that in an open-ended tube. It is also found that negative stretch can suppress the explosion for flame with large Lewis number propagating in closed constant-area tube.
