Field Analysis of SF(6) Gas Insulated Cables and Its Application to Spacer Design [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
This paper describes the spacer design for SF(6) gas insulated cables. The maximum electric stress within the cable is calculated by a numerical method, and it is recognized that the breakdown voltage depends linearly on the calculated values.

Predicting Fire Heat Release Rate Using Deep Perceptual and Detail‐Aware Hybrid Feature Fusion From Early Smoke Signals

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
With urbanisation increasing, predicting the heat release rate (HRR) of building fires from visual data has become a key research focus. To address challenges, such as limited training data and complex models, we propose a lightweight neural network based on adaptive weight pooling and channel information interaction (APCI) that achieves high accuracy ...

Shielding of Unconventional High Surge Impedance Loading Transmission Lines

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper focuses on determining the optimal location and number of shield wires for a novel‐designed unconventional high surge impedance loading line. This line has a much lower surge impedance than conventional lines, raising key questions on the location of shield wires to meet an acceptable shielding failure rate (SFFOR).

Assessment of Life Safety Risk in Building Fires With an Integrated Fire and Evacuation Model

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This paper presents an integrated simulation methodology that combines fire hazard modeling with pedestrian evacuation analysis to evaluate how tenability conditions affect occupant egress. In the proposed approach, fire scenarios representative of leisure and spa resorts are modeled using the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS).

AC Flashover Voltage Model for Polluted Suspension Insulators and an Experimental Investigation in Salt Fog

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In recent years, the electrical performance of polluted suspension insulators operating in coastal foggy regions has attracted wide attention because of the occurrence of flashover. Surface wetting by salt fog accretion increases the surface conductivity

Parametric and nonparametric identification of shell and tube heat exchanger mathematical model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Parametric and nonparametric models of a shell and tube heat exchanger are studied. Such models are very important because they provide information about controlling a system operation. Without the model, the control task would be difficult for tuning

Flashover Characteristics of Dry Band-water band on Hydrophobic Surfaces

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
Due to their outstanding anti-flashover characteristics, composite insulators have been extensively applied in power systems. A lot of research has investigated flashover characteristics of hydrophobic specimens with artificial water droplets.
