A flat alphanumeric display tube

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1971
A unique alphanumeric display has been developed which utilizes several digitally addressed electron beams to write characters on a conventional phosphor target. The electron beams are generated by an areal electron source, followed by a series of thin dynode plates containing any array of holes.

Design Method for Flat Geotextile Tubes

Ground Improvement and Geosynthetics, 2010
Using geotextile tubes to construct dikes for land reclamation has been widely applied. The tubes are usually filled with slurry made of sand, silt or clay. Since the dimensions of the tube are quite large, the tube usually takes a very flat shape. The circumference tensile force is a dominant factor for constructing a safe geotextile tube dike.

A Compact Flat Cathode Ray Tube

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1982
Of all the display devices which have been so far proposed, the cathode ray tube still offers a number of advantages of its own: high luminous efficiency, easy addressing a wide dynamic range of brightness, and a well-established manufacturing process.

A Color Flat Cathode Ray Tube

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1985
Recently, rapid advances have been made in flat-panel displays, such as Liquid Crystal Displays, Plasma Displays, Electroluminescent Displays, Vacuum Fluorescent Displays and so on. Applications to flat TV displays have been seriously considered. No flat displays, however, can meet all the necessary requirement for TV displays, especially the color TV ...
