A search for flavour-changing neutral currents in b decay at petra

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1983
A study of the reaction e+e− → μ+μ−+ anything at a mean centre of mass energy of ≈35 GeV has been carried out to investigate the possible flavour-changing neutral current decay of the b quark. An upper limit of 0.7% at 95% CL has been placed on the branching ratio for this process.

Effects of terrestrial mirror fermions on flavour changing neutral currents

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1982
Abstract Effects of flavour changing neutral currents induced by mirror fermion contamination in ordinary fermions are investigated, especially on the K L − K S mass difference. It is shown that the effect is safely suppressed as far as “ordinary”-“mirror” mixings are sufficiently small (≲10 −2 –10 −3 ).

Natural suppression of flavour-changing neutral currents in supersymmetric gauge theories

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1982
Abstract Induced flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) in supersymmetric unified theories are investigated both in models with the standard SU(2)L × U(1) gauge symmetry and in models with an extra Ũ(1) gauge symmetry. Supersymmetric extension of the natural flavour conservation laws for neutral currents is obtained by adding a condition regarding ...

Constraining flavour changing neutral currents with B→μ+μ−

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1991
Abstract We discuss the standard model prediction for the decay B→μ+μ−. We also look at this decay in models with two-Higgs doublets with and without the discrete symmetries that prevent FCNCs occuring at tree-level.

Problems with the Breitenlohner-Maison γ5-scheme in flavour changing neutral currents

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1991
Abstract We calculate the flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) decay Z → Q q at one-loop order using two different γ 5 -prescriptions, namely the Breitenlohner-Maison-'t Hooft-Veltman (BM) γ 5 -scheme and a naively anticommuting γ 5 . The results obtained in the two schemes differ from one another.
