Anomalies in the heavy sector [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
Heavy flavour physics is well described by the Standard Model with the exception of some measurements which could be signalling new physics. We briefly review status and prospects of R(K) and R(D(*)) anomalies and also address the issue of the long ...

Search for Charged Lepton Flavour Violation at CMS

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Lepton flavour is a conserved quantity in the standard model of particle physics, but it does not follow from an underlying gauge symmetry. After the discovery of neutrino oscillation, it has been established that lepton flavour is not conserved in the ...

New Physics from Flavour [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 36th International Conference on High Energy Physics — PoS(ICHEP2012), 2013
I report on investigations of physics beyond the Standard Model using experiments designed to investigate $b$ quark and $c$ quark interactions. Generalized searches involving loop diagrams using heavy meson mixing and CP violation experiments imply limits on New Physics (NP) at large scales from 100-100,000 TeV. There are ways of avoiding these limits,

Flavour Violating Axions [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
I review the physics case for flavour violating axions. In particular, I argue that relaxing the assumption of the universality of the Peccei-Quinn current opens up new pathways, including: the relaxation of the Supernova bound on the axion mass, a ...

PHYSICS OF HEAVY FLAVOUR AT CDF [PDF]

open access: yesFundamental Interactions, 2006
Results on physics of heavy flavour at CDF are reported. Selected measurements of Branching Ratios and CP asymmetry in $B^0$ and $B_s^0$, lifetime difference of $B^0_s$ CP eigenstates and a precise measurement of the $B_c$ mass are presented.

Heavy flavour physics at HERA [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1999
New results with increased statistics are presented for heavy flavour production at Q2<150 Gev2 and in the photoproduction limit Q2-->0. Cross sections for Dstar production, F2charm, the gluon density in the proton, and inelastic J/psi production are discussed and compared to theoretical calculations.

Calibration of the light-flavour jet mistagging efficiency of the b-tagging algorithms with Z+jets events using 139  $$\textrm{fb}^{-1}$$ fb - 1 of ATLAS proton–proton collision data at $$\sqrt{s} = 13$$ s = 13  TeV

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
The identification of b-jets, referred to as b-tagging, is an important part of many physics analyses in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider and an accurate calibration of its performance is essential for high-quality physics results.

New Physics searches in heavy flavours in ATLAS

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Precision determinations of the flavour sector allow the search for indirect new physics signatures. At the forefront of these studies are the determinations of interference of new physics with known ΔF = 1 and ΔF = 2 processes.

Searching for BSM physics in Yukawa couplings and flavour symmetries

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory, we compare the lower bounds on the scale of new physics possibly contributing to the f f ¯ h $$ f\overline{f}h $$ effective couplings, obtained from the measurements of different observables,
