COVID‐19 Vaccination Is Not Associated With the Development of Idiopathic Inflammatory Myositis in US Veterans

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Several case reports have proposed a potential association between COVID‐19 vaccination and the subsequent development of idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM). This study examined prior COVID‐19 vaccination in US veterans who developed new‐onset IIM compared to those without new‐onset IIM.

Heavy flavour production at RHIC and LHC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
In this proceedings, I present selected experimental results on heavy-flavour production at RHIC and at the LHC, which were presented at the Strangeness in Quark Matter 2017 conference.

On the IR/UV flavour connection in non-universal axion models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
Non-universal axion models, with the Peccei-Quinn (PQ) symmetry acting on Standard Model (SM) fermions in a generation-dependent way, are typically accompanied by two different sources of flavour violation, dubbed here as infrared (IR) and ultraviolet ...

Differential Item Functioning on the Patient Health Questionnaire 8 by Disease Subtype, Language, Sex, and Age Among People With Systemic Sclerosis: A Scleroderma Patient‐Centered Intervention Network Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Somatic items used in depression assessments can potentially overlap with symptoms related to physical illness, including systemic sclerosis (SSc). No studies have looked at whether somatic depression items may be influenced by diffuse versus limited SSc disease subtypes, which are associated with varying degrees of symptom presentation.

Latest LHCb results

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
The LHCb experiment is one of the major research projects at the Large Hadron Collider. Its acceptance and instrumentation is optimised to perform high-precision studies of flavour physics and particle production in a unique kinematic range at ...

Flavour-symmetric type-II Dirac neutrino seesaw mechanism

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
We propose a Standard Model extension with underlying A4 flavour symmetry where small Dirac neutrino masses arise from a Type-II seesaw mechanism. The model predicts the “golden” flavour-dependent bottom-tau mass relation, requires an inverted neutrino ...

B anomalies under the lens of electroweak precision

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
The measurements carried out at LEP and SLC projected us into the precision era of electroweak physics. This has also been relevant in the theoretical interpretation of LHCb and Belle measurements of rare B semileptonic decays, paving the road for new ...

Flavour Physics

open access: yes, 1998
In these four lectures I review the theory and phenomenology of weak decays of quarks, and their rôle in the determination of the parameters of the Standard Model of particle physics, in testing subtle features of the theory and in searching for signatures of new physics.

New Onset of Fibromyalgia After Exposure to a Combat Environment: A Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Traumatic life events are hypothesized to be triggers for the onset of fibromyalgia. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common comorbidity of fibromyalgia. However, limited prospective data are available on the development of fibromyalgia after exposure to high‐magnitude stress.
