Observation of and evidence for decays

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
Measurements of the branching fractions of $B_{s}^{0}\to {{K}^{*\pm }}{{K}^{\mp }}$ and $B_{s}^{0}\to {{K}^{*\pm }}{{\pi }^{\mp }}$ decays are performed using a data sample corresponding to $1.0\ {\rm f}{{{\rm b}}^{-1}}$ of proton-proton collision data ...

Some results on lepton flavour universality violation

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
Motivated by recent experimental measurements on flavour physics, in tension with Standard Model predictions, we perform an updated analysis of new physics violating lepton flavour universality, by using the effective Lagrangian approach and in the $$Z^{'

Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

Probing the flavour-blind SMEFT: EFT validity and the interplay of energy scales

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) offers a systematic approach to study potential deviations from the Standard Model (SM) through higher-dimensional operators that encapsulate new physics effects.

Establishing a search for b → sℓ + ℓ − anomalies at the LHC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
One of the fundamental predictions of the Standard Model is Lepton Flavour Universality. Any deviation from this prediction would indicate the existence of physics beyond the Standard Model.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Is Young's Modulus a Critical Coating Property Determining Fouling‐Release Performance of Marine Coatings?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The release of foulers from protective marine coatings is determined by several interrelated material properties, including the strength of Young's modulus, the flexibility of chain segments, the surface free energy, and the magnitude of hydrodynamic stress.

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

New physics searches in flavour physics

open access: yesIl Nuovo Cimento C, 2011
The origin of flavour and CP violation is among the most important open questions in particle physics. Imminent results from the LHC as well as planned dedicated flavour physics experiments might help to shed light on this puzzle. This talk concentrates on the NP sensitivity of the rare B decays B(s,d) -> mu+ mu- and B -> K* mu+ mu- and of the CP
