Unsteady Flow Behavior and Radial Force Analysis of a Side Channel Pump Under Different Blade Tip Cutting Angles Using Computational Fluid Dynamics

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The Radial Force (RF) distribution under different cutting angles is presented in Figure 1. Generally, the distribution of RF displays divergence across different flow conditions. The pattern of force distribution reveals a total of 24 peaks, which corresponds to the number of blades of the impeller of the SCP.

An Efficient Contact Model for the Simulation of Cargo Airdrop Extraction Phase

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2018
A high-fidelity cargo airdrop simulation requires the accurate modeling of the contact dynamics between an aircraft and its cargo. This paper presents a general and efficient contact-friction model for the simulation of aircraft-cargo coupling dynamics ...

Static aeroelastic analysis for generic configuration aircraft [PDF]

open access: yes
A static aeroelastic analysis capability that can calculate flexible air loads for generic configuration aircraft was developed. It was made possible by integrating a finite element structural analysis code (MSC/NASTRAN) and a panel code of aerodynamic ...

Industry Portfolio Volatility Connections and Industry Portfolio Returns

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper tracks dynamic connections that form among daily US industry portfolio return volatilities using a Bayesian time‐varying parameter VAR model. Market participants often focus on sectors to filter vast amounts of information, and this focus results in cross‐industry return predictability. We characterise connections that form over the

Genetic Algorithm for Optimal Control Design to Gust Response for Elastic Aircraft

open access: yesAerospace
Developing control systems for high aspect ratio aircraft can be challenging due to the flexibility of the structure involved in the control loop design. A model-based approach can be straightforward to tune the control system parameters and, to this aim,

Flexible body dynamic stability for high performance aircraft [PDF]

open access: yes
Dynamic equations which include the effects of unsteady aerodynamic forces and a flexible body structure were developed for a free flying high performance fighter aircraft. The linear and angular deformations are assumed to be small in the body reference
