QCManyBody: A flexible implementation of the many-body expansion

The Journal of Chemical Physics
While the many-body expansion (MBE) and counterpoise treatments are commonly used to mitigate the high scaling of accurate ab initio methods, researchers may need to piece together tools and scripts if their primary chosen software does not support targeted features.

Flexible Bodies in Multibody Systems

1998
The motion of flexible bodies in multibody systems can be represented in many applications as a superposition of a large reference motion and small deformations, which allows linearisation in the deformation variables. The linearisation procedure requires a careful analysis of geometric stiffening.

Flexible body modelling in MADYMO

1996
The feasibility of the flexible multibody method to represent deforming dummy components will be demonstrated on the Hybrid III neck. It is shown that the local deformations of the rubber disks as well as the global motions of the neck can be accurately predicted.

Flexibility of a Contact Area of an Isotropic Elastic Body

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1985
From Cerruti’s solution to the problem of the plane and Cattaneo’s traction distributions, instantaneous and secant flexibilities are derived for an elliptical contact area which includes a region of slip. The results apply to force histories where the tangential component is constantly directed.
