Using cell‐free RNA to identify B‐ and T‐cell clonality for diagnosis and monitoring of B‐ and T‐cell neoplasms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using peripheral blood for determining B‐cell or T‐cell clonality is more reliable when we use cell‐free RNA (cfRNA) because cells release blood significantly more RNA than DNA. Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) of cfRNA allows us to evaluate fragment cfRNA and evaluate clonality reliably without the need for prior determination of the specific dominant

Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

FLEXIBLE WORK ARRANGEMENTS: STRESS-BUFFERING OR STRESS-EXACERBATION? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Job control is traditionally considered a buffer against stress. To find out if there is any evidence to support this idea, I compared the perceived job stress levels among school principals in the public sector within the Gothenburg region with their ...

Using fluorescence fluctuation spectroscopy to quantify molecular dynamics within cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Microscopy techniques like fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) and number and brightness analysis (N&B) allow to quantify concentrations, diffusion rates, and oligomerization of fluorescently labeled molecules in the living cell. In this protocol the principles of how to set up these types of experiments are described including calibration ...

Empirical study of work-life balance and organizational commitment in tin can island port terminals, Lagos State, Nigeria

open access: yesJournal of Social Studies
Despite the benefits of work-life balance and the large number for studies it has motivated in developed nations, relatively little studies have been done on how it affects organisational commitment in Nigeria.
