Combined flight control/utility system
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1974THE S‐3A VEHICLE is equipped with 2 completely independent hydraulic systems which have been designated as the combined flight control/utility system. These systems are both structurally and hydraulically isolated from each other and are designed and installed in accordance with spec.

Space Shuttle Flight Control System
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1975The Space Shuttle is a control stabilized vehicle with control provided by an all digital, fly-by-wire flight control system. This paper gives a description of the several modes of flight control which correspond to the Shuttle mission phases. These modes are ascent flight control (including open loop first stage steering, the use of four computers ...

A flight control system for microgravity experiments
[Proceedings 1992] The First IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2003A flight control system which is capable of reproducing a microgravity environment within a commercial aircraft by forcing it to follow the dynamic behavior of a mass launched in the vacuum is studied. The control problem is formulated as a variational problem and an efficient numerical procedure for the online solution of the problem is given.

Open Loop Flight Control System
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1968<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper describes an automatic flight control system in which the control surface follow-up element has been eliminated. In this system, the transfer characteristics of an electronic computer-amplifier are matched or made complementary to the transfer characteristics of a servo actuator in which the mechanical ...

Aircraft Flight Control System Identification
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1988Abstract Aircarft handling characteristics depend to a laege extent on control force and displacement characteristics. It is common practice to determine these characteristics from time consuming and cumberstone measurements in stationary rectilinear or curvilinear flight conditiins. The results are crucial in aircraft airworthiness certification and

Flight Tests of a Microprocessor Control System
Journal of Guidance and Control, 1979Flight experiments with a microprocessor control system have been conducted. The purposes of these tests were to provide information which will assist the development of flying qualities criteria for digital control systems and to investigate engineering characteristics of the research system.

Design Techniques for Multivariable Flight Control Systems
1982The goal of this paper is to develop an efficient flight control design and analysis capability which addresses the following: (i) multi-input closely coupled dynamic systems; (ii) conventional design specifications, particularly stability margin and high frequency attenuation; (iii) the impact of unmodeled or uncertain dynamics on system performance; (
