Real time digital propulsion system simulation for manned flight simulators [PDF]

open access: yes
A real time digital simulation of a STOL propulsion system was developed which generates significant dynamics and internal variables needed to evaluate system performance and aircraft interactions using manned flight simulators.

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Turning flight simulation of tilt-rotor plane with fluid-rigid body interaction

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2020
Six degrees of freedom turning flight simulation is presented for a tilt-rotor aircraft represented by V-22 Osprey, considering interaction of fluid and rigid body in a coupled manner.

Wind shear and turbulence simulation [PDF]

open access: yes
The aviation community is increasing its reliance on flight simulators. This is true both in pilot training and in research and development. In moving research concepts through the development pipeline, there is a sequence of events which take place ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Effect of Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin Oxide on Reactivity and Durability of Perovskite Oxygen Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This table of contents illustrates that the mechanism for mitigating Sr segregation depends strongly on the chemistry of the coating layer. HfO2 electrostatically stabilizes the surface by lowering the surface oxygen vacancies, which serve as the driving force for Sr migration. On the other hand, Al2O3 and Fe2O3 react with segregated Sr to form Sr‐Al‐O

Building Credible VTOL Flight Models for Handling Quality Certification by Simulation

open access: yesAerospace
Certifying novel VTOL aircraft handling qualities (HQs) may be challenging, relying on costly and high-risk flight testing. This paper presents a methodology to establish the credibility of flight simulation models for certification by simulation, aiming

VTOL Flight simulator

open access: yesThe Japanese journal of ergonomics, 1967
Details of design and construction of a VTOL flight simulator, completed in March 1966, are given this report. The one-man cab has conventional seating, controls and instrumentation in which CRT and TV type displays are involed. A television camera with 6 degrees-of-freedom is used to acquire a visual scene of landing-approach below a 120m ceiling. The

Flight simulators for under $100000

open access: yesIEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1988
To demonstrate the feasibility and practicability of designing and building low-cost flight simulators, a prototype system was developed to model the performance of a new US Army remotely piloted missile system. The flight simulator displays a dynamic, three-dimensional, out-the-window view of the terrain in real time while responding to operator input
