The Comparative Evolution of the Floral Traits of Island Angiosperms
Island biotas show parallel changes in community assembly and the evolution of species traits, which are referred to as “island syndromes.” My thesis investigates the evolution of floral traits on islands to test the “island floral syndrome,” which ...

ABSTRACT Climate change is making water availability more uncertain, with growing consequences for the productivity and long‐term sustainability of tropical and subtropical fruit orchards. Mangifera indica L. and Persea americana Mill. both require large amounts of water to sustain growth and productivity.

ABSTRACT Aristolochia species have long been used in traditional medicine for their presumed anti‐inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial properties. However, extensive toxicological and epidemiological evidence now demonstrates that these plants contain aristolochic acids (AAs) I and II, highly potent nephrotoxic, genotoxic, and carcinogenic ...

This study provides the palynological analysis of 12 Crucianella L. taxa using LM and SEM. Variations in pollen size, aperture number, and exine ornamentation were identified as key traits, demonstrating their taxonomic value for distinguishing closely related species and subspecies within the genus. ABSTRACT Crucianella L.

This research provides a complete morphoanatomical description of Lysimachia nummularia, as well as a HPTLC profile. Standard techniques of light and scanning electron microscopies, as well as standard techniques of HPTLC, were used. ABSTRACT Primulaceae are distributed all over the world, encompassing around 2590 species.

Form and Law ‐ Rupert Riedl's Significance for Morphology
ABSTRACT Rupert Riedl showed in his “Order in Living Organisms” that morphology can produce law statements and is, therefore, a proper, that is, nomothetic, science. Furthermore, he coined useful terms (interphene and metaphene) and concepts (burden, cadre and minimal homology).
