Bellidiastrum michelii ( Asteraceae ) – a new species to the flora of the Eastern Carpathians.
The paper presents a new locality of Bellidiastrum michelii in the Western Bieszczady Mts (Eastern Carpathians). A description of the species and characteristics of its habitat are given. The locality is situated within the ATPOL grid squares (2 km × 2

Small datasets support conservation: Improving detectability for the elusive rusty‐spotted cat
In western circles, the value of small, locally specific data is increasingly under‐appreciated and undervalued by research metrics indexing research impact. We report novel data for the elusive, threatened, rusty‐spotted cat (Prionailurus rubiginosus) whose fundamental ecology remains virtually unknown.

Vine proliferation is a widespread consequence of tropical forest disturbance, yet its effects on ground‐level predator–prey interactions remain poorly understood. Using plasticine caterpillars deployed on the rainforest floor in north Queensland, Australia, we show that overall predation rates were unaffected by vine‐to‐tree ratio. Instead, fine‐scale

Forest edges buffer effects of agricultural management on bee–plant interaction networks
Agricultural management effects: Organic and conventional crop margins host similar bee and plant species, but network structure differs: organic farms exhibit higher interaction diversity, conventional farms higher connectance. Role of forest edges: Native forest edges stabilize bee–plant networks by providing continuous floral resources and suitable ...

Rhododendron diversity patterns provide new insights for conserving China's montane flora
Integrating distribution, phylogenetic, and functional trait data for 603 Rhododendron species in China identified significant conservation hotspots of multidimensional diversity, particularly in the Hengduan Mountains. Climate seasonality and topographic heterogeneity jointly influenced these patterns; however, notable conservation gaps remained ...

Perceiving Vegetation From Social Positions: Discourses on Plants in a Mediterranean Landscape
ABSTRACT Understanding how vegetation is perceived, named and valued requires attention to the social positions from which these perceptions are produced. This article analyses vegetation perception from different social positions based on qualitative research conducted in the province of Jaén (Andalusia, Spain), a Mediterranean landscape characterized

We present the first phylogenetic analysis of the Californian species of Myosurus. Our ddRADseq analysis reveals considerably more diversity than what was recognized in recent floristic treatments. Myosurus minimus subsp. apus was found to be a rare species restricted to Southern California and northwestern Baja California.

Evolution of spinescence in mimosoid legumes. Summary The evolutionary arms race between plants and herbivores led to numerous plant adaptations, including spinescence. However, the balance between herbivory and abiotic conditions in the evolution of spinescence remains unclear. We integrated phylogenetic, geographic, and trait data for 2686 species of
