GenSDF: An MPI-Fortran based signed-distance-field generator for computational fluid dynamics applications

open access: yesSoftwareX
This paper presents a highly efficient signed-distance field (SDF) generator designed specifically for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) workflows. Our approach integrates the Message Passing Interface (MPI) for parallel computing with the performance ...

Effect of Gate Opening Height on the Hydraulic Jump Characteristics in an Open Channel [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
Hydraulic jump is often used to dissipate energy of flow in open channels. Despite extensive study on hydraulic jump, effects of tail gate operation on hydraulic jump remains underexplored in the standard literature.

Simulation of debris flow head movement process in mountainous area based on FLOW-3D

open access: yesZhongguo dizhi zaihai yu fangzhi xuebao, 2022
On October 3rd, 2020, a sudden rainstorm in Li County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. resulted in the outbreak of debris flow in Erjingli gully, which caused severe damage to the highway at the mouth of the gully and blocked the river.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Object Impacted and Transported by Dry Granular Flow: 3D MPM-SDEM

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2023
Granular geophysical flows pose a significant threat to human lives and infrastructure in mountainous regions globally. Property and victims impacted by these flows often get carried away and buried. Quickly locating the potential location of victims is critical for post-disaster recovery and rescue.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
