Parameter Study of Boiling Model for CFD Simulation of Multiphase-Thermal Flow in a Pipe
The demand for eco-friendly energy is expected to increase due to the recently strengthened environmental regulations. In particular, the flow inside the pipe used in a cargo handling system (CHS) or fuel gas supply system (FGSS) of hydrogen transport ...

Characteristics of onset of boiling under downward flow condition
Understanding of the onset of boiling plays an important role in the design of boiling equipment. Therefore, many studies have been reported so far, but most of these concerned with the upward flow condition.

Recent studies have shown that the presence of dissolved salts in water can exhibit peculiar flow boiling and two-phase flow regimes. Two-phase flow and convective flow boiling are typically characterized with the help of void fraction measurements.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Flow in fuel nozzles under cavitation and flash-boiling conditions
Cavitation plays a crucial role in various fuel systems and spray applications. Due to the limitation in experimentally measuring the cavitation flow in fuel nozzles, numerical simulations can be used as an alternative in exploring the underlying physics.

Modeling and Simulation Analysis on Mixing Characteristics of Two-Phase Flow Around Spacer Grid
The spacer grid has a significant impact on the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the rod bundle channel, which directly determines the possibility of a boiling crisis.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
