Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Accelerating sulfonyl fluoride synthesis through electrochemical oxidative coupling of thiols and potassium fluoride in flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Sulfonyl fluorides are valuable synthetic motifs which are currently of high interest due to the popularity of the sulfur (VI) fluoride exchange (SuFEx) click chemistry concept.

Four-layer folding framework: design, GAP synthesis, and aggregation-induced emission

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2023
The design and synthesis of a type of [1 + 4 + 2] four-layer framework have been conducted by taking advantage of Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling and group-assisted purification (GAP) chemistry.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Rapid and scalable photocatalytic C(sp2)–C(sp3) Suzuki−Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl bromides with alkyl boranes

open access: yesNature Communications
In recent years, there has been a growing demand for drug design approaches that incorporate a higher number of sp3-hybridized carbons, necessitating the development of innovative cross-coupling strategies to reliably introduce aliphatic fragments. Here,

Solvent Resistant O2 Sensor Integrated in Pressured Flow Reactors

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
In this contribution we present an optical oxygen sensor that can easily be integrated into continuous flow reactors. The sensors are pressure resistant to up to 8 bars and are able to continuously measure oxygen for several hours in organic solvents ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
