An improved passive vortex generator model for flow separation control

open access: yes, 2010
Modeling arrays of passive vortex generators (VGs) pairs located in the fully turbulent boundary layer of a two-dimensional flat plate, generating streamwise counterrotating vortex structures is investigated. Usually, a sound computational fluid dynamics

A control-theoretic approach to flow control [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the conference on Communications architecture & protocols, 1991
This paper presents a control-theoretic approach to reactive flow control in networks that do not reserve bandwidth. We assume a round-robin-like queue service discipline in the output queues of the network's switches, and propose deterministic and stochastic models for a single conversation in a network of such switches.

Serological Benefit of SARS‐CoV‐2 Vaccination Relative to Infection in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

Interaction of the Shock Train Leading Edge and Filamentary Plasma in a Supersonic Duct

open access: yesFluids
Quasi-direct current (Q-DC) filamentary electrical discharges are used to control the shock train in a back-pressured Mach 2 duct flow. The coupled interaction between the plasma filaments and the shock train leading edge (STLE) is studied for a variety ...

Aerodynamic Sensitivity Analysis for a Wind Turbine Airfoil in an Air-Particle Two-Phase Flow

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, the Navier-Stokes equations coupled with a Lagrangian discrete phase model are described to simulate the air-particle flows over the S809 airfoil of the Phase VI blade, the NH6MW25 airfoil of a 6 MW wind turbine blade and the NACA0012 ...

Pseudo-Leidenfrost phenomenon of low surface tension droplet induced by external aerodynamic field

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Droplet regulation has significant application potential in many fields; however, conventional controlling methods make it difficult to effectively control low surface tension droplets.

Controlling Control Flow in Web Applications

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2008
AbstractControl flow is often key problem in current web applications. For example, using the back button gives a POSTDATA error, using multiple windows books the wrong hotel, and sending a link to a friend does not work.Previous solutions used continuations as a model for user interaction.

Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...
