d13C pattern of dissolved inorganic carbon in a small granitic catchment: the Strengbach case study (Vosges mountains, France) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The transfers and origins of dissolved inorganic carbon DIC. were studied for a year in a soil–spring–stream system in the Strengbach catchment, Vosges mountains, France.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Investigation of tin adsorption on silica nanoparticles by using flow field-flow fractionation with offline inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Science and Technology, 2018
Flow field-flow fractionation (Fl-FFF) for silica nanoparticles with offline inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was applied to investigate the adsorption behavior of tin onto silica nanoparticles.

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Isospin fractionation in the nucleon emissions and fragment emissions in the intermediate energy heavy ion collisions

open access: yes, 2003
The degree of isospin fractionation is measured by $(N/Z)_{n}$ / $(N/Z)_{N_{imf}}$, where $(N/Z)_{n}$ and $(N/Z)_{N_{imf}}$ are the saturated neutron-proton ratio of nucleon emissions (gas phase) and that of fragment emissions (liquid phase) in heavy ion

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Perturbations of Lipids and Oxidized Phospholipids in Lipoproteins of Patients with Postmenopausal Osteoporosis Evaluated by Asymmetrical Flow Field-Flow Fractionation and Nanoflow UHPLC–ESI–MS/MS

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2020
Osteoporosis, a degenerative bone disease characterized by reduced bone mass and high risk of fragility, is associated with the alteration of circulating lipids, especially oxidized phospholipids (Ox-PLs).

Cyclical magnetic field flow fractionation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2012
In this study, a new magnetic field flow fractionation (FFF) system was designed and modeled by using finite element simulations. Other than current magnetic FFF systems, which use static magnetic fields, our system uses cyclical magnetic fields. Results of the simulations show that our cyclical magnetic FFF system can be used effectively for the ...

Gel filtration chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Gel-filtration chromatography is a popular and versatile technique that permits the effective separation of proteins and other biological molecules in high yield. Here, the basis of the method is described and typical matrix types are contrasted.
