Development of a separation method of magnetic iron nanoparticles based on Asymmetric Flow - Field-Flow Fractionation technique

open access: yes, 2022
reservedL’utilizzo delle tecniche separative è fondamentale sia per caratterizzare nanomateriali nei processi produttivi, per selezionare particelle di determinate dimensioni, che per caratterizzare dimensionalmente i nanomateriali.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Fast optimal control of asymmetric flow field flow fractionation processes

open access: yes, 2022
S.207-213We present optimization problem for Asymmetric Flow Field Flow Fractionation, which is a widely used technique for segregation of two or more particles of submicron scale, according to their hydrodynamic radius.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Unraveling ultrafiltration of polysaccharides with flow field flow fractionation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We used flow field flow fractionation (flow-FFF) coupled with multi-angle-light scattering (MALS) to study the conformation of alginate molecules in ultrapure water and in a 10 mM salt solution.

Investigation of tin adsorption on silica nanoparticles by using flow field-flow fractionation with offline inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Science and Technology, 2018
Flow field-flow fractionation (Fl-FFF) for silica nanoparticles with offline inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was applied to investigate the adsorption behavior of tin onto silica nanoparticles.

Silver nanoparticles as a medical device in healthcare settings: a five-step approach for candidate screening of coating agents [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
Silver nanoparticle-based antimicrobials can promote a long lasting bactericidal effect without detrimental toxic side effects. However, there is not a clear and complete protocol to define and relate the properties of the particles (size, shape, surface

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
