The crystallization of polymers, caused by flow fields in the melt, has been the subject of extensive studies for many years. In this study, we use periodical shear to induce polypropylene to form multi-layer structure, which is usually observed in ...

Fiber-Induced Crystallization in Elongational Flows
Morphology development at the fiber/matrix interphase in fiber-reinforced isotactic polypropylene composites is a widely studied topic. While the application of shear flow may strongly enhance the nucleation density around the fiber, little is known about the influence of fibers on the crystallization of polypropylene subjected to an extensional flow ...

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

Eruption of ultralow-viscosity basanite magma at Cumbre Vieja, La Palma, Canary Islands
The viscosity of magma exerts control on all aspects of its migration through the crust to eruption. This was particularly true for the 2021 eruption of Cumbre Vieja (La Palma), which produced exceptionally fast and fluid lava at high discharge rates. We

Superplastic Forming of Zr-Based Bulk Metallic Glasses
In this paper, the partially crystallized Zr70Cu13.5Ni8.5Al8 bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) were prepared, and their superplastic deformation ability in the supercooled liquid region was studied via compression over a wide range of strain rates from 5 × 10−

The Shewanella oneidensis Fic enzyme SoFic targets the switch‐I region of EF‐Tu for AMPylation
Fic enzymes mediate diverse post‐translational modifications across all domains of life, including AMPylation. Prokaryotic EF‐Tu can be AMPylated and deAMPylated by the conserved Fic enzyme SoFic. Structural and biochemical approaches were used to characterize the effect of AMPylation on EF‐Tu, SoFic's enzymatic activities, and the enzyme‐target ...
