Method for the evaluation of minor losses in pulsatile laminar fluid flow

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
This article focuses on description and evaluation of the size of the minor losses in pulsatile laminar flow. It describes a method for determination of minor losses with respect to the phase delay between pressure waveforms and flow waveforms. The whole

The diagonal branches and outcomes in patients with anterior ST- elevation myocardial infarction

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2020
Background The management of diagonal branch (D) occlusion is still controversary. The association between the flow loss of D and the prognosis remains unclear.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Jet Propagation and Mach Cones in (3+1)d Ideal Hydrodynamics

open access: yes, 2008
The observation of jet quenching and associated away--side Mach cone--like correlations at RHIC provide powerful ``external'' probes of the sQGP produced in A+A reactions, but it simultaneously raises the question where the jet energy was deposited.

The influence of flow on the jet quenching power in heavy-ion collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The flow pattern and evolution of the medium created in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions can have significant influence on the energy loss of hard partons traversing the medium. We demonstrate that within a range of assumptions for longitudinal and

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

On the effects of flow pulsation upon the performance of flow deflector for catalytic converter

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2017
In automobile-exhaust systems, catalytic converters are the main components to produce substantial pressure drops, which induce engine-power loss and fuel-consumption rise. In addition to the need to reduce the pressure loss, the flow passing through the

A Porosity-Length Formalism for Photon-Tiring-Limited Mass Loss from Stars Above the Eddington Limit

open access: yes, 2004
We examine radiatively driven mass loss from stars near and above the Eddington limit (Ledd). We begin by reviewing the instabilities that are expected to form extensive structure near Ledd.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
