Fine-grained entanglement loss along renormalization-group flows [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2005
We explore entanglement loss along renormalization group trajectories as a basic quantum information property underlying their irreversibility. This analysis is carried out for the quantum Ising chain as a transverse magnetic field is changed.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Preliminary Experimental Study on Pressure Loss Coefficients of Exhaust Manifold Junction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 2014
The flow characteristic of exhaust system has an important impact on inlet boundary of the turbine. In this paper, high speed flow in a diesel exhaust manifold junction was tested and simulated.

Dilepton emission in high-energy heavy-ion collisions with viscous hydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The invariant mass spectrum and the elliptic flow of lepton pairs produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC are studied with viscous hydrodynamics. The effects of viscous corrections on dilepton observables are explored.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Effects of flow rate ratio on loss reduction of T-junction pipe

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2014
T-junction pipes are frequently used in industrial facilities to split one flow into two flows or to merge two flows into one flow. In the counter-flow type of confluence in this type of pipe, separated vortex flow regions are formed near the junction ...

Influence of the excavator hydraulic system efficiency on the productivity

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2023
This paper presents the experimental research of factors influencing the UDS 214 excavator efficiency. The hydraulic oil flow rate is measured in hydraulic circuits for controlling the moving of the bucket of the UDS 214 excavator.

Experimental study of flow distribution with circumferential manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Water flow test results on fluid flow distribution and pressure loss in curved manifolds with tangential or radial entry are reported. Manifolds were studied both as inlet and outlet manifolds. Manifolds can be used for boilers and/or heat exchangers for

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Computer program predicts thermal and flow transients experienced in a reactor loss- of-flow accident [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Program analyzes the consequences of a loss-of-flow accident in the primary cooling system of a heterogeneous light-water moderated and cooled nuclear reactor.
