Acute Blood Loss: Regional Blood Flow and Microcirculation (Review, Part II)
It was shown in the first part of the review that the alterations of systemic hemodynamics and microcirculation in acute blood loss led to the development of metabolic disorders and cell damage.

Theory and Design of Axial Flow Fan (Part III)
The condition that the axial flow fan is to be operated at maximum efficiency is to make the overall manometric efficiency maximum taking also the loss of pipe line which is connected the fan into consideration. We show a disign to obtain the maximum manometric efficiency, in two cases where the diameter of impeller is determined freely or given, when ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Hyperlipidemia is a major risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Although statins are the cornerstone of lipid‐lowering therapy, their use may be limited in some patients by adverse effects. This study evaluated the possible impact of non‐drug treatment using double‐filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP) on CD14+

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Information flow in systems with schedulers, Part I: Definitions
This paper studies information flow security in a synchronous state machine model, in which agents share a global clock and can make observations at all times, but in which an agent's ability to perform actions is subject to a scheduler. A number of definitions of security for this setting are proposed, depending on whether the attacker is active or ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
