Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Control of electric power generation of thermal power plant in TamilNadu

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2018
A control configuration for controlling the generated power in NLC TamilNadu Power Limited (NTPL) thermal power station by manipulating the coal flow rate, air flow rate and feed water flow rate is proposed here.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

A Rate Based Back-pressure Flow Control for the Internet [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The Internet has traditionally relied on end-to-end congestion control performed at the transport layer by TCP. In this paper, we discuss the limitations of this approach to address the large number of flows and the large delay-bandwidth product scenarios typical of next generation Internets. We propose a link layer back-pressure flow control which can

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Towards a sender-based TCP friendly rate control (TFRC) protocol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Pervasive communications are increasingly sent over mobile devices and personal digital assistants. This trend is currently observed by mobile phone service providers which have measured a significant increase in multimedia traffic.

SSRC:source rate control algorithm for delay-sensitive flow in data center network

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2019
Previous work had studied how to ensure the transmission time of delay-sensitive flows, but falled short in its effectiveness for a given period.Motivated by that and based on SDN/OpenFlow framework,a SDN-based source rate control (SSRC) algorithm was ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
