A distributed max-min flow control algorithm for multi-rate multicast flows
We present a distributed algorithm to compute the bandwidth max-min fair rates in a multi-rate multicast network. The significance of the algorithm, compared to previous algorithms (Sakar, S. and Tassiulas L., 1999, 2000; Kar, K. et al., 2001), is that it is more scalable (it does not require each link to maintain the saturation status of all sessions ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Product flow rate control in ball mill grinding process using fuzzy logic controller
This paper shows a strategy for the fuzzy logic control system using an offline simulated ball mill grinding approach. In this study, a step change in the force reference signal is considered a disturbance.

Study and enhancement of DCCP over diffServ assured forwarding class [PDF]
The Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) has been proposed as a transport protocol which supports real-time traffic. In this paper, we focus on the use of DCCP/CCID3 (Congestion Control ID 3) over a DiffServ/AF class. This class of service is used

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Evaluation of Impacts of Adaptive Cruise Control on Mixed Traffic Flow [PDF]
This paper addresses the impacts of Adaptive (Intelligent) Cruise Control (ACC) laws on traffic flow. Semi-automated vehicles, such as ACC Vehicles, with the capability to automatically follow each other in the same lane, will coexist with manually ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
