Analysis of the Periodic Motion in a Powder Rheometer and Development of a New Flowability Testing Method

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal, 2017
This study focuses on the periodic motion observed in the FT4 Powder Rheometer and aims to develop a new testing method to evaluate powder flowability. This new method is based on the autocorrelation analysis of the torque measurements.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Comparative study of metallic powder flowability testing methods

open access: yes, 2019
The flowability of a powder is an important characteristic that depends on both the physical properties of the particle ensemble and the testing method, equipment and conditions. In additive manufacturing processes, flowability can be an indicator of the

Correlation between physical properties and flowability Indicators for fine powders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Approximately 80% of pharmaceutical products and the ingredients required for their manufacture are in powder form. The solid dosage form (tablets and capsules) is manufactured by either dry-blending of fine powder ingredients or combining the ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Limestone and silica fume to improve concurrent flowability-segregation limits of concrete

open access: yes, 2017
The demanding performance criteria of high-performance concrete (HPC) such as high flowability and low segregation make superplasticiser (SP) indispensable in concrete production.

Spent coffee grounds as a renewable source of energy: An analysis of bulk powder flowability

open access: yesParticuology, 2019
The main use for spent coffee grounds (SCG) produced in the soluble coffee industry is thermal energy generation in the industry itself. The SCG are processed using operations that are strongly dependent on powder flow behavior.

Model of the influences of fiber diameter and content on flowability of basalt fiber reinforced phosphorus building gypsum composite slurry

open access: yesScientific Reports
Water film thickness (WFT) is a primary factor influencing the flowability of cement mortar and gypsum slurry. However, conventional WFT calculation models have overlooked the impact of fiber surface properties on flowability.

Investigation of flowability of the green sand mould by remote control of portable flowability sensor

open access: yesArchives of Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
Purpose: The useful data and information during the sand compaction process steps should be collected. Direct measurement methods of the sand mould properties during the actual moulding process are not adopted yet. Design/methodology/approach: In this work, a remote control system [1] have been integrated into a new flowability sensor [2]. Findings: To
