Economic impact of resident and nonresident marine anglers to the local economy in Mecklenburg‐Western Pomerania, Germany

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, Volume 32, Issue 3, June 2025.
Abstract Recreational fisheries catches are increasingly considered in the assessment and management of mixed recreational‐commercial marine fisheries, while the contribution of recreational fisheries to the economy is often overlooked. Using a telephone diary survey targeting marine recreational anglers in Germany, we estimated the number of anglers ...

Transport and Depositional Processes of Neogene Pumice Fragments in a Distal Fluvial System of the Northern Patagonian Foreland (Argentina)

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 37, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
In this work we analyse the origin, transport, and deposition processes of pumice fragments up to 30 cm in size, deposited in the Northern Patagonian Foreland more than 200 km from the Andean volcanic arc. ABSTRACT There are numerous studies analysing volcaniclastic supply to continental environments in distal areas from source volcanoes.

Sedimentology and reservoir characterisation of Lower Jurassic clastic sedimentary rocks, Salt and Trans Indus Ranges, Pakistan: Evidence from petrography, scanning electron microscopy and petrophysics

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 11, Issue 2, Page 698-717, April 2025.
In this study, sandstones of the Lower Jurassic Datta Formation (DF‐LJ) in the Salt and Trans‐Indus Ranges are investigated regarding composition, diagenesis, provenance and reservoir properties using petrography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and petrophysical analysis.

A method for preparing multi-regional input-output tables despite data limitation: FLQ-Gravity

open access: yes, 2021
The preparation of multi-regional input-output tables is of great importance because of its multiple applications. However, due to the lack of data in many developing countries, including Iran, its preparation faces serious challenges. To deal with these challenges, this paper introduces the FLQ-Gravity combination method.

Mapping the Global Distribution of Babesia Infections

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Understanding the ecological niches and quantifying the disease burden of Babesia species is essential for efficient surveillance and control strategies. Through a systematic review of global distributions, we document all 250 identified Babesia species across 73 vector species, 224 animals, and humans.

The Role of Side Chains and Hydration on Mixed Charge Transport in n‐Type Polymer Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 51, December 19, 2024.
Most conjugated polymers require polar ethylene glycol (EG) side chains for mixed ion‐electron conduction. Yet, this study finds that longer EG chains reduce transport efficiency in n‐type conductors. Using various in situ techniques, this study highlights swelling's detrimental effect on mixed charge transport.

FLQ, the Fastest Quadratic Complexity Bound on the Values of Positive Roots of Polynomials

open access: yesSerdica Journal of Computing, 2008
In this paper we present F LQ, a quadratic complexity bound on the values of the positive roots of polynomials. This bound is an extension of FirstLambda, the corresponding linear complexity bound and, consequently, it is derived from Theorem 3 below. We have implemented FLQ in the Vincent-Akritas-Strzeboński Continued Fractions method (VAS-CF) for the

Extending the FLQ formula: a location quotient-based interregional input–output framework [PDF]

open access: yesRegional Studies, 2016
Extending the FLQ formula: a location quotient-based interregional input–output framework. Regional Studies. The regionalization of national input–output tables is a major issue in regional science as corresponding regional data are often unavailable. In this paper, a framework is developed to estimate intra- and interregional input–output tables.
