Probing the Arabidopsis Flagellin Receptor: FLS2-FLS2 Association and the Contributions of Specific Domains to Signaling Function [PDF]

open access: yesThe Plant Cell, 2012
Flagellin sensing2 (FLS2) is a transmembrane receptor kinase that activates antimicrobial defense responses upon binding of bacterial flagellin or the flagellin-derived peptide flg22. We find that some Arabidopsis thaliana FLS2 is present in FLS2-FLS2 complexes before and after plant exposure to flg22.

Carbonic anhydrases CA1 and CA4 function in atmospheric CO2-modulated disease resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Main conclusion Carbonic anhydrases CA1 and CA4 attenuate plant immunity and can contribute to altered disease resistance levels in response to changing atmospheric CO2 conditions.

Arabidopsis clathrin adaptor EPSIN1 but not MODIFIED TRANSPORT TO THE VACOULE1 contributes to effective plant immunity against pathogenic Pseudomonas bacteria

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2023
In eukaryotes, EPSINs are Epsin N-terminal Homology (ENTH) domain-containing proteins that serve as monomeric clathrin adaptors at the plasma membrane (PM) or the trans-Golgi Network (TGN)/early endosomes (EE).

Ligand-induced endocytosis of the pattern recognition receptor FLS2 in Arabidopsis [PDF]

open access: yesGenes & Development, 2006
Pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) trigger innate immune responses in animals and plants. One such PRR is the flagellin receptor FLS2 in Arabidopsis . Here, we demonstrate that a functional fusion of FLS2 to the green fluorescent protein (GFP) resides in cell membranes of most tissues ...

Novel roles for Arabidopsis dynamin-related proteins DRP1A and DRP2B in resistance against Botrytis cinerea fungal infection

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2022
Arabidopsis DYNAMIN-RELATED PROTEIN1A (AtDRP1A) and AtDRP2B are large GTPases that function together in endocytosis for effective cytokinesis, cell enlargement and development. A recent study shows that these DRPs contribute to ligand-induced endocytosis

High levels of cyclic-di-GMP in plant-associated Pseudomonas correlate with evasion of plant immunity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The plant innate immune system employs plasma membrane-localized receptors that specifically perceive pathogen/microbe-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs/MAMPs).

Heterotrimeric G proteins promote FLS2 protein accumulation through inhibition of FLS2 autophagic degradation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
ABSTRACT FLAGELLIN-SENSITIVE 2 (FLS2) is a plant immune receptor that binds bacterial flagellin to activate immune signaling. This immune signal is transduced by a heterotrimeric G protein complex at the plasma membrane and activates downstream signaling.

A flagellin-induced complex of the receptor FLS2 and BAK1 initiates plant defence [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 2007
Plants sense potential microbial invaders by using pattern-recognition receptors to recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). In Arabidopsis thaliana, the leucine-rich repeat receptor kinases flagellin-sensitive 2 (FLS2) (ref. 2) and elongation factor Tu receptor (EFR) (ref.

Regulation of immune receptor kinase plasma membrane nanoscale organization by a plant peptide hormone and its receptors

open access: yeseLife, 2022
Spatial partitioning is a propensity of biological systems orchestrating cell activities in space and time. The dynamic regulation of plasma membrane nano-environments has recently emerged as a key fundamental aspect of plant signaling, but the molecular
