CT92 is a high yielding flue-cured tobacco with resistance to the soil borne fungus Black Root Rot Chalara elegans Nag Rag and Kendrick (synonym: Thielaviopsis basicola (Berk and Broome) Ferraris). CT92 has a grade index that is comparable to the check CTH14 and showed a higher potential to provide greater economic returns than the check.

Cholesteryl esters in flue-cured tobacco

AC Gayed is a flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) cultivar bred at the Pest Management Research Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. It is a a black root rot (Chalara elegans) resistant, backcross derivative of Delgold (ST205/PB19//*5 Delgold) (Pandeya and White 1984). The resistance gene originated from Nicotiana debneyi.

Disappearance of parathion from flue-cured tobacco
Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1974Replicated field experiments were conducted at three locations in North Carolina to study the disappearance of parathion from flue-cured tobacco. Immediately after application, parathion residues on green leaves, averaged over locations, were 51.0 and 78.8 ppm, respectively, for the 0.56 and 1.12 kg/ha rates. These residues dropped to 0.63 and 1.50 ppm

Windel a compact, flue-cured tobacco cultivar, is recommended for growing in the provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, where prevailing high winds cause extensive damage to tall cultivars, such as Delhi 76. Windel is high yielding and exhibits no loss of yield due to leaf drop — an important characteristic for tobacco cultivars grown in

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1984Newdel was developed at the Agriculture Canada Research Station, Delhi, Ontario. It represents an improvement over Virginia 115 in several agronomic, physical, chemical and smoke characteristics. Newdel essentially exhibits all the desirable traits of Nordel with a significant improvement in yield.Key words: Tobacco, Nicotinia tabacum, Nicotina ...
