Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Permeability and dynamic elastic moduli of controlled porosity ultra-precision aerostatic structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Porous ceramic aerostatic bearings enable precise and smooth motion and improved stiffness compared with widely used orifice restrictor bearings. However, the processing techniques so far used are too complex or rely in lowering the sintering temperature

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Instability studies of an 'O'-ring flexibly supported, gas bearing, mounted, cool air unit. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A Cool Air unit (C. A. U. ) is powered by air bled from the engine and supplies cool air to the avionics and cockpit of the aircraft. Essentially a small turbo machine, the rotor is mounted upon two plain (gas) air bearings, which are flexibly ...
