Fluid Models of Many-server Queues with Abandonment
We study many-server queues with abandonment in which customers have general service and patience time distributions. The dynamics of the system are modeled using measure- valued processes, to keep track of the residual service and patience times of each

Transport coefficients in the one-fluid approximation
Some comments of the justification of writing the viscosity and thermal conductivity coefficients of a mixture in the one-fluid approximation are presented. Anomalous behavior in the critical region is discussed.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

In this paper, we study the flow of a micropolar fluid in a porous channel with expanding or contracting walls. First, we use spectral collocation method on the governing equations to obtain an initial approximation for the solution of equations.

Using Relative Entropy to Find Optimal Approximations: an Application to Simple Fluids
We develop a maximum relative entropy formalism to generate optimal approximations to probability distributions. The central results consist in (a) justifying the use of relative entropy as the uniquely natural criterion to select a preferred ...

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Invariant states and rates of Convergence for a critical fluid model of a processor sharing queue
This paper contains an asymptotic analysis of a fluid model for a heavily loaded processor sharing queue. Specifically, we consider the behavior of solutions of critical fluid models as time approaches \infty.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

On the power of (even a little) resource pooling
We propose and analyze a multi-server model that captures a performance trade-off between centralized and distributed processing. In our model,a fraction p of an available resource is deployed in a centralized manner (e.g., to serve a most-loaded station)

Assessment of fluid neutral models for a detached ITER case
We compare the plasma sources (particle, parallel momentum and ion energy) due to plasma-neutral interactions computed with different fluid neutral models with the sources from a Monte Carlo simulation of the kinetic neutral equation.
