Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Multi-Stage Metallogenesis and Fluid Evolution of the Hongtoushan Cu-Zn Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide Deposit, Liaoning Province, China: Constraints from Sulfur Isotopes, Trace Elements, and Fluid Inclusions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The Hongtoushan Cu-Zn volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit, located in the Hunbei granite–greenstone terrane of the North China Craton, has undergone a complex, multi-stage metallogenic evolution.

The origin and evolution of the ore-forming fluids at the Manondo-Choma gold prospect, Kirk range, southern Malawi

open access: yesOpen Geosciences, 2023
This study provides an in-depth analysis of fluid inclusions (FIs) and stable isotopes from the Manondo-Choma gold prospect in southern Malawi to understand the ore-forming mechanisms, genesis, and evolution of the hydrothermal fluids responsible for ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Coupling Relationship Between Densification Characteristics and Tight Oil Accumulation of the FGSR Reservoir: A Case Study of the Chang 7 Member of the Triassic Yanchang Formation in the Zhenyuan Area of the Southwest Ordos Basin, Central China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
Fine-grained sedimentary rock (FGSR) reservoirs in a deep-water sedimentary environment from the Late Triassic Yanchang Formation in the Ordos Basin in central China have huge potential for tight oil production. According to the comprehensive research of

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The source of ore fluids in the Bafq district iron oxide-apatite deposits, Central Iran: a fluid inclusion approach

open access: yesJournal of Economic Geology
The Bafq metallogenic district in the Kashmar-Kerman zone, or Posht-Badam block, in the Central Iran structural zone, hosts large iron oxide-apatite deposits hosted in Early Cambrian volcanic, subvolcanic, and sedimentary rocks, as well as in Precambrian
