Design study of a novel regenerative pump using experimental and numerical techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents a numerical and experimental analysis of a new regenerative pump design. The complex flow-field within regenerative pumps represents a significant challenge to previous published mathematical models. The new pump design incorporates a

Interaction of particles with a cavitation bubble near a solid wall

open access: yes, 2018
Hard particle erosion and cavitation damage are two main wear problems that can affect the internal components of hydraulic machinery such as hydraulic turbines or pumps.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF SMALL AXIAL TURBINES

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2010
The authors conducted a series of experimental studies using a flow tunnel to determine the hydrodynamic characteristics of small axial turbines. The results obtained were confronted with the results obtained from the authors’ own numerical codes based ...

Evaluating the hydraulic performance of rotating spray plate sprinklers

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering
The current study was design to evaluate the performance of rotating spray plate sprinklers, R3000 with three nozzle sizes i.e., #16-N1, #24-N2 and #32-N3 corresponding to 3.18, 4.76 and 6.35 mm diameters, respectively using various combinations of ...

Comments on Frequency Swept Rotating Input Perturbation Techniques and Identification of the Fluid Force Models in Rotor/bearing/seal Systems and Fluid Handling Machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Perturbation techniques used for identification of rotating system dynamic characteristics are described. A comparison between two periodic frequency-swept perturbation methods applied in identification of fluid forces of rotating machines is presented ...

Off-design considerations through the properties of some pressure-ratio line of radial inflow turbines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Radial turbines are commonly used in applications involving operation through severe off-design conditions. The emergence of variable-geometry systems leads to the distinction between two off-design concepts: operational and geometric off-designs.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Multi Domain Design of Fluid Machinery [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics Engineering and Automation, 2015
The scope of the paper is the design of a fluid machinery with a multiphysics procedure, through CAD (computer-aided design)-CAE (computer-aided engineering)-CAx (computer-aided technologies) tools. The study of a wind turbine is a perfect example of a project that requires an interdisciplinary team design, in fact for such a project mechanical ...

Large eddy simulation of partial cavitation around a 2D plane-convex hydrofoil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Investigations of attached partial cavitation are important because to prevent damages in hydrulic machinery and to reduce the costs. As expected computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods have been developed for more than 40 years to understand this ...
