Lift and Drag Forces for a Sphere on a Flat Wall in Non-Newtonian Shear Flow
Parametrical study of perfect steady rolling and steady state freely motion of spherical particle on the wall in shear flow of non-Newtonian fluid was carried out.

Fluid Velocity Fluctuations in a Suspension of Swimming Protists [PDF]
In dilute suspensions of swimming microorganisms the local fluid velocity is a random superposition of the flow fields set up by the individual organisms, which in turn have multipole contributions decaying as inverse powers of distance from the organism.

In this work we investigate the laminar flow through square–square sudden contractions with various contraction ratios (CR¼2.4, 4,8and12), using a Newtonian fluid and a shear-thinning viscoelastic fluid.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Effect of wall friction on oscillation of velocity at the head of the gravity current
Velocity oscillations at the head of the gravity current were investigated in experiments and numerical simulations of a locked-exchange flow. A comparison of the experimental and numerical simulations showed that the depth and volume of the released ...

Energy-Conserving Lattice Boltzmann Thermal Model in Two Dimensions [PDF]
A discrete velocity model is presented for lattice Boltzmann thermal fluid dynamics. This model is implemented and tested in two dimensions with a finite difference scheme.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Velocity Profiles in a Cylindrical Liquid Jet by Reconstructed Velocimetry
An experimental setup and a simple reconstruction method are presented to measure velocity fields inside slightly tapering cylindrical liquid jets traveling through still air.

A 'reciprocal' theorem for the prediction of loads on a body moving in an inhomogeneous flow at arbitrary Reynolds number [PDF]
Several forms of a theorem providing general expressions for the force and torque acting on a rigid body of arbitrary shape moving in an inhomogeneous incompressible flow at arbitrary Reynolds number are derived.
