An Analytical Study for Fluidized Bed Cooler Thermal Design [PDF]
The paper describes an investigation for the thermal design of a fluidized bed cooler and prediction of heat transfer rate among the media categories. It is devoted to the thermal design of such equipment and their application in the industrial fields ...

Modeling the size of hydrophilic nanoparticles during fluidization with emphasis on the role of vapor of polar materials [PDF]
In this study, a comprehensive force balance model is developed to estimate the equilibrium size of agglomerates formed during the fluidization of nanoparticles with considering the importance of hydrogen bond, van der Waals and gravitational forces ...

Dynamical weakening of pyroclastic flows by mechanical vibrations
Dynamical weakening of dense granular flows plays a critical role on diverse geological events such as seismic faulting and landslides. A common feature of these processes is the development of fluid-solid relative flows that could lead to fluidization ...

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Segregation and Fluidization Behavior of Poly-disperse Mixtures of Biomass and Inert Particles
This paper reports on the results of an experimental study aimed at investigating the fluidization and segregation behavior of poly-disperse binary mixtures consisting of small and dense inert particles mixed with less dense and coarse pieces of biomass ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Fluidization Characteristics of Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers
AbstractThe fluidization in the furnace of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers is described. Data have been obtained from a 12 MWth CFB boiler and from literature. The bottom bed is bubbling rather than fast or turbulently fluidized as is often assumed. There is an extended splash zone above this bed, in which particles are thrown up by the bubbles

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
