The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Resistance to the SDHI Fungicides Boscalid and Fluopyram in Podosphaera xanthii Populations from Commercial Cucurbit Fields in Spain

open access: yesJournal of Fungi, 2021
Powdery mildew is caused by Podosphaera xanthii, and is one of the most important diseases that attacks Spanish cucurbit crops. Fungicide application is the primary control tool; however, its effectiveness is hampered by the rapid development of ...

Harnessing benzamides as plant stress inhibitors, growth promoters and in management of crop resilience—A review

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Benzamides boost crop resilience by inhibiting poly(ADP‐ribose) polymerase (PARP) to enhance stress tolerance and, through their antimicrobial, herbicidal, and insecticidal derivatives, they offer broad protection for sustainable crop improvement. Abstract Benzamides have emerged as potent stress inhibitors and growth promoters in plant biotechnology ...

Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Extraction With Dimethyl Carbonate and Bio‐Ethanol as Co‐Solvents for the Determination of Pesticide Residues in Black Pepper by Low‐Pressure Gas Chromatography–Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Separation Science, Volume 49, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The determination of pesticide residues in spices is analytically challenging due to their high content of essential oils and secondary metabolites that could interfere with detection and quantification. In this study, supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), using green co‐solvents, was evaluated for the extraction of 44 pesticides from black ...

Review of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) on Ten years of phytopharmacovigilance in France: Review of the only organisation of its kind in Europe for post‐MA vigilance of plant protection products

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 4, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Phytopharmacovigilance consists in identifying signals of adverse effects on human, animal and plant populations and the environment associated with the use of plant protection products, and reporting them to the various bodies responsible for assessing and managing risks.

Exploring divot resistance and recovery of select turfgrasses used on golf courses

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 8, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Divots are pieces of the turfgrass sward removed when golf clubs strike playing surfaces with impact energy that exceeds turfgrass shear strength. Divot resistance and recovery are factors affecting turfgrass species and cultivar selection for golf courses.

Influence of crop sequence, cultivar, and metam sodium on plant‐parasitic nematode population and peanut

open access: yesCrop, Forage &Turfgrass Management, Volume 11, Issue 2, December 2025.
Abstract Prior cropping sequence can have a major effect on populations of plant parasitic nematodes (PPN), peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) yield, and financial return at the farm level. Effective crop rotation sequences can reduce PPN populations and reduce grower reliance on nematicides or fumigant.

Chemical and biological controls and soil amendments for plant‐parasitic nematode management

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, Volume 2, Issue 4, December 2025.
This review synthesizes sustainable strategies for managing plant‐parasitic nematodes, emphasizing eco‐friendly biocontrol agents and soil amendments. It critically evaluates the impacts of chemical nematicides on nontarget soil organisms and advocates integrated approaches to enhance soil health, crop productivity, and agricultural sustainability ...
