A Reversible 900 nm Near‐Infrared Photoswitch for Invisibly Writable 2D and 3D Displays

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
The peri‐benzo[a]fluoranthenethioindigo (PBFT) photoswitch enables direct excitation with near‐infrared light up to 900 nm wavelengths. It delivers a high‐performance property profile including high‐contrast color changes between bright green and deep blue.

Gas–Solid Interface‐Assisted Growth of Organic Semiconductor Single Crystals: Dimensions, Structures, Mechanisms, and Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Gas–solid interface‐assisted growth strategies have unlocked precise control over crystal structure, morphology, dimension, and molecular packing. The obtained organic semiconductor single crystals represent the ideal candidates for high‐performance organic optoelectronic devices.

Studies in the fluoranthene series [PDF]

open access: yes, 1947
1. It has been shown that in Friedel-Crafts reactions acetylation, benzoylation and phthaloylation of fluoranthene give the 4- and 11- substituted Isomers in approximately equal quantities.

Kekulé Structures in Fluoranthenes

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 2010
Fluoranthenes are polycyclic conjugated molecules consisting of two benzenoid fragments, connected by two carbon-carbon bonds so as to form a five-membered ring. Fluoranthenes possessing Kekul´e structures are classified into three types, depending on the nature of the two carbon-carbon bonds connecting the two benzenoid fragments.

A Flexible Poling‐Free Piezoelectric Energy Harvester Based on Gradient Ti‐Doped BiFeO3 Films

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A self‐aligned polarization is realized in compositional gradient Ti‐doped BiFeO3 films via the formation of defect dipoles and strain gradient. The self‐poling behavior is robust to resist high electric field and elevated temperature. The fabricated poling‐free piezoelectric energy harvester delivers output comparable to the poled ones.

Effects of the sorption/desorption process on the fluoranthene degradation by wild strains of Hansenula angusta and Rhodotorula minuta [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The fluoranthene degradation was predicted by the sorption/desorption process as its fungal transformation was in relationship with the bioavailabit.

Ion Activation Methods for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as a premier method used to characterize the sequences of proteins. Top‐down proteomics aims to capture the multiple sources of structural diversity reflected in proteins, such as those that arise from alternative RNA splicing events or the addition of post‐translational modifications. Tandem MS (i.e., MS/MS)

The Use of the Marine Microalga Tisochrysis lutea (T-iso) in Standard Toxicity Tests; Comparative Sensitivity With Other Test Species

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2019
The marine flagellate Tisochrysis lutea (T-iso), with a global distribution, is one of the most common microalgae used as natural food in aquaculture. In recent years T-iso has also been increasingly used in toxicity testing, although it is not included ...
