Formal [4 + 1] Cycloadditions of β,β-Diaryl-Substituted ortho-(Alkynyl)styrenes through Gold(I)-Catalyzed Cycloisomerization Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Gold(I)-catalyzed cycloisomerization of β,β-diaryl-o-(alkynyl)- styrenes at 80 °C selectively yields dihydroindeno[2,1-a]indenes in a transformation that encompasses a formal [4 + 1] cycloaddition and takes place through a cascade 5-endo-cyclization ...

Regioselective Suzuki–Miyaura Cross-Coupling Reactions of the Bis(triflate) of 1,4-Dihydroxy-9H-fluoren-9-one [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
1,4-Diaryl-9H-fluoren-9-ones were prepared by regioselective Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction of the bis(triflate) of 1,4-dihydroxy-9H-fluoren-9-one. The reactions proceeded with excellent site selectivity.

Three‐Step Synthesis Toward Fluorene‐Based Non‐Fused‐Ring Acceptors for Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Applying a simple three step synthesis strategy leads to two fluorene‐based non‐fused‐ring electron acceptors, FHM‐Cl and FHM‐F for organic solar cells. The chlorinated variant delivers markedly higher efficiency due to broader light harvesting and favorable molecular packing, resulting in improved charge transport and reduced recombination losses ...

Interaction and variation of isotopic age, temperature, organic and inorganic solutes in Hungarian thermal waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The geochemical facies of Hungarian thermal waters were the object of this study. Samples were separated into groups by relative ages (δ18O values). Mature and immature subgroups were formed on the basis of dissolved (semi)volatile organic compounds. The

Self‐Immolative Gels: Programmable Degradation Using Self‐Immolative Linkers and Polymers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Self‐immolative linkers and polymers undergo bond‐cleaving reaction cascades in response to specific stimuli. Their incorporation into gels can be harnessed to release cargo, induce property changes, or trigger degradation in a highly controlled manner. These functions can be employed in applications such as sensing and drug delivery.

Bright Solvatochromic Fluorophores With Dual Emission Enabled by a Donor‐Engineering Strategy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We screened tertiary amines for installation on the donor unit of highly emissive donor–acceptor‐type solvatochromic fluorophores based on a 9,9‐dimethyl‐2‐phenyl‐9H‐fluorene scaffold, with the aim of enabling two bright emissive states to coexist. As a result, the azetidine derivative [4] and the azepane derivative [7] exhibited clear dual emission ...

Enhanced Thermal Durability and Efficiency of Organic Solar Cells via Selective Organic Electron Transport Layers

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
PDINN‐based organic solar cells exhibit strong thermal durability, maintaining high efficiency at 110°C, whereas PFN‐Br devices degrade rapidly. PDINN's stable interfacial interactions enhance charge transport and suppress recombination, emphasizing the key role of interfacial engineering in achieving thermally durable, high‐performance OSCs.

Chemical contamination in southwest Puerto Rico: a survey of contaminants in the coral Porites astreoides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Coral ( Porites astreoides ) from eight sites in southwest Puerto Rico were analyzed for approximately 150 chemical contaminants, to provide a preliminary characterization of environmental contamination in the corals, and assess the relationships between
