Visualizing Graphene Based Sheets by Fluorescence Quenching Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Graphene based sheets have stimulated great interest due to their superior mechanical, electrical and thermal properties. A general visualization method that allows quick observation of these single atomic layers would be highly desirable as it can greatly facilitate sample evaluation and manipulation, and provide immediate feedback to improve ...

CD44v, S1PR1, HER3, MET and cancer‐associated amino acid transporters are promising targets for the pancreatic cancers characterized using mAb

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Novel mAbs could detect cancer‐associated membrane proteins on various type of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC) by flow cytometry with viable PDAC cells and by immunohistochemistry with PDAC tissues. Results of protein expression were substantiated by mRNA expression by The Cancer Genome Atlas.

Unravelling the fluorescence kinetics of light-harvesting proteins with simulated measurements [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The plant light-harvesting pigment-protein complex LHCII is the major antenna sub-unit of PSII and is generally (though not universally) accepted to play a role in photoprotective energy dissipation under high light conditions, a process known Non-Photochemical Quenching (NPQ).

Unambiguous detection of nitrated explosive vapours by fluorescence quenching of dendrimer films

open access: yesNature Communications, 2015
Unambiguous and selective standoff (non-contact) infield detection of nitro-containing explosives and taggants is an important goal but difficult to achieve with standard analytical techniques.

Determination of epristeride by its quenching effect on the fluorescence of L-tryptophan

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2013
A rapid, novel spectrofluorimetric method to determine epristeride (EP) in biological fluids and a pharmaceutical formulation was developed, based on the fact that fluorescence intensity of l-tryptophan could be quenched by EP in the medium of pH=9.0 ...

Identification of inhibitors of the Salmonella FraB deglycase, a drug target

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screen was used to identify inhibitors of Salmonella FraB, a drug target. Characterization of top hits (identified after an additional counter screen) revealed that some triazolidines, thiadiazolidines, and triazolothiadiazoles are mixed‐type inhibitors of FraB.

Tunneling induced dark states and controllable fluorescence spectrum in quantum-dot molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We theoretically investigate the spectrum of the fluorescence from triple quantum-dot molecules and demonstrate that it is possible to use tunneling to induce dark states. Unlike the atomic system, in quantum-dot molecules we can use tunneling to create the dark states and control fluorescence emission, requiring no coupling lasers.

Epitope Mapping of Anti‐Neurofascin 155 Antibody in a Large Cohort of Autoimmune Nodopathy Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune nodopathy (AN), a newly recognized disease entity, is an immune‐mediated polyneuropathy involving autoantibodies against cell adhesion molecules located in nodes of Ranvier and paranodal regions, such as neurofascin 186 (NF186) and neurofascin 155 (NF155). The present study aimed to identify the epitopes for autoantibodies

Quenching of fluorescence by oxygen. A probe for structural fluctuations in macromolecules.

open access: yesBiochemistry, 1973
Quenching of the fluorescence of various fluorophores by molecular oxygen has been studied in aqueous and nonaqueous solutions equilibrated with oxygen pressures up to 100 atm. Temperature dependence of quenching, agreement with the Stern–Volmer equation,

Amplified Detection of Iron Ion Based on Plasmon Enhanced Fluorescence and Subsequently Fluorescence Quenching

open access: yesNano-Micro Letters, 2014
A facile and rapid approach for detecting low concentration of iron ion (Fe3+) with improved sensitivity was developed on the basis of plasmon enhanced fluorescence and subsequently amplified fluorescence quenching.
